Outfit 49 Returns to Counter-Strike With Signing of Canadian-Core PHANTOM SENSE

May 10, 2026 | Written by eviljonbob

After briefly stepping away from Counter-Strike earlier this year, Canadian organization Outfit 49 has officially returned with the signing of the PHANTOM SENSE roster.

On April 4th, Outfit 49 released its previous lineup, which featured a mix of American and Ukrainian players. It did not take long for the organization to rebuild and re-enter the scene, now with a roster centered around Canadian talent.

Outfit 49 is:

  • Canada Jon “Cloudy” Kalacis
  • Canada Eric  “Depend” Dee
  • Canada Andrew “Shiraz” McGrath
  • Canada Lukasz “Lukasz” Brodowicz
  • United States Owen “Man327” Seolas

With four Canadian players and one American, the roster marks a major shift for the Toronto-based organization as it leans further into Canadian Counter-Strike.

In an exclusive interview with ThirdSite earlier this year, Outfit 49 co-owner James “Rakkno” Power spoke about the organization’s approach to Canadian talent and roster building. At the time, he stated that while the organization was open to signing Canadian players, any additions would need to align with the team’s competitive goals.

Although Outfit 49 was satisfied with its previous roster at the time of the interview, the signing of PHANTOM SENSE now marks a clear shift toward a Canadian core lineup and further investment into homegrown Counter-Strike talent.

The move also makes Outfit 49 one of the few organizations in Canada that is both based in Canada and fielding a primarily Canadian roster. Many Canadian organizations currently compete with lineups located in other regions, making Canadian-majority rosters increasingly rare.

For Canadian Counter-Strike fans, Outfit 49’s return adds another organization investing directly into the scene.

Outfit 49’s debut with their new roster will take place tonight (May 10th) in ESEA Advanced Season 57, where they will face FRZ Unit. Coverage will be provided by ThirdSite partner True North Studios, with the broadcast beginning at 8:45 PM EST. [True North Studios Twitch]
