Halifax's Frag For Cancer LAN Returns with CS2 Among the Tiles

After taking a year off in 2025, Frag For Cancer is officially returning, bringing the largest LAN in Atlantic Canada back to Halifax this fall.

The event will take place November 13–15, 2026, at the Light House Arts Centre, featuring three days of gaming, tournaments, giveaways, cosplay, and community fundraising in support of health-related charities.

Counter-Strike will once again be one of the featured titles alongside several other games. The tournament will initially open with a 16-team cap, with organizers able to increase that number based on registration demand. The 2024 edition featured 20 teams competing in Counter-Strike. The event is BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) and will not be VRS-ranked.

Registration details will be announced closer to the event. Entry is anticipated to cost around $55–60 CAD per person, although organizers note that pricing has not yet been finalized. Information regarding tournament formats, prizes, sponsors, and additional details will be announced in the coming months.

Since launching in 2005, Frag For Cancer has grown into one of Canada’s premier charity gaming events, bringing together players, volunteers, sponsors, and fans to raise money for health-related charities while celebrating gaming. Entirely volunteer-run, the event has become a staple of the Atlantic Canadian gaming community.

Over the past 13 years, FRAG Esports Society has donated proceeds to organizations including the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, and Canadian Mental Health Association. The organization is currently working with Movember, supporting initiatives focused on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s mental health.
